Welcome and welcome sons and daughters of rock and roll, of the retro, of the old, of video games and above all, of these new consoles such as the Pandora, Anbernic or Retroid that are making us have a great time as if we were living in the 80s and 90s but without spending the weekend pay in one go. We present the starting guide of the Retro Retroid Pocket 2 console.
This time we are going to delight ourselves with one of the best consoles that have been seen in recent years. We refer to the Retroid Pocket 2 which is a little gem with an Android 6.0 heart and capable of emulating thousands and thousands of games from systems as varied as the NES, the Super Nes, the Game boy, the Game boy color, the Game boy Advance , the Nintendo 64, the Playstation, the PSP, the Sega Dreamcast and a very long etcetera.

With a ARM Mali-400 MP2 processor with two cores at 500 megahertz and 1 GB RAM It is much more than enough for 8 and 16-bit games on the NES, the super NES, or even the Nintendo 64 or PlayStation 1.
In this case, the autonomy of the battery is between 3 and 5 hours depending on the games you choose. And, if that wasn't enough, you can connect it to your tv and play big! (Includes an HDMI cable in the box)
You can also load games from Google Play Store, as long as they are compatible with Android 6.0. Another point in favor of this Retroid Pocket 2 is that it has a headphone jack or you can also connect them via Bluetooth.
If it is the console you dream of, that you have already bought or what you plan to buy in the not too distant future, stay tuned to this post, because here we will give you instructions and some tricks so that you get the most out of your new Retroid Pocket 2.
One of the first things I want to comment on is that by pressing the Home button on the front of the console for 2 seconds you will switch between cursor mode and button mode. In other words, you can navigate as from your computer with a pointer or go through functions as if it were a button. Pressing the Start button + Volume we will raise and lower the brightness of the screen.
The system takes a long time to boot, almost 50 seconds (it is an Android system). To avoid this we have an excellent sleep mode, that is, you press the power button and the console enters a StandBy mode, press again and it turns on immediately. This system barely drains the battery and will allow you not to waste time waiting for charging.
Let's start at the beginning, as it should be.
The Android application menu you can search for the Toolbox and from there enter to install the RetroidOS app.
You can also, with your ROMS that you install on the 32GB SD card included, enjoy all your games from the different emulators already installed and optimized on Android (Mupen64Plus, Neodroid, MAME4droid, Retroarch…). To play applications like Retro Arch you can install your Rom's on the SD card.
You'll be impressed with the excellent game emulation on most emulators, although it still has a bit of a hard time working perfectly on some Dreamcast, PSP, or PS1 games. We will continue messing with it and we will continue to tell you what we are discovering. The manufacturer promises us an update to Android 8 soon.
If you have not bought it, we already have a warehouse in Spain with shipments throughout Europe in 24 / 72h with 2 years warranty and after-sales support.
