With very little time left before Retroid fully announces its Retroid Pocket 5, we are learning more and more details about the portable console that will become a huge success at the end of this year.
This console will not arrive alone but will have as a companion its little brother the Retroid pocket mini which comes with a 3.7-inch screen. As for the Pocket 5 will arrive with a 5.5-inch screen with an excellent 1080p resolution and with a surprise compared to its predecessors, It will feature an AMOLED panel of exquisite quality. If we compare it with the previous model, the Retroid Pocket 4, it had 4.7 inches while the new version 5 reaches 5.5 inches, logically it will go from having a weight of 261 grams to being a 7% heavier reaching 280 grams.
If we compare it with models that could be rivals such as the Aya pocket S or the Odin 2, the Retroid pocket 5 is slightly lighter since these models reach 6 inches. The aesthetics of this new Retroid pocket 5 is impeccable and quite ergonomic for use in long sessions.
Backlit Hall Stick
The manufacturer has also confirmed that it will sell four translucent back covers in different colors as you can see in the image. Another of the striking aspects of this new console and that is currently in fashion are its backlit analog buttons which of course will be customizable with an immense amount of possible combinations.
Powerful processor to emulate PS2
As for the processor, the new Retroid pocket 5 will surprise us with a engine room that will compete with the also successful Odin 2. The storage is yet to be confirmed but we will most likely have two versions, one with 8 GB of RAM and 128B of memory and another with 12 GB of RAM and a memory that rises to 256GB.
